Background
Andy specialised in percussion at the Guildhall School of Music and
Drama which was followed by further study and research of
traditional hand drumming in Ghana and Cuba. Throughout his
career Andy has worked in contemporary music and dance
ensembles, Latin and jazz bands, orchestras and West End
musicals.
Collaborations & Performances
As co-founder and former member of the internationally renowned
percussion group Ensemble Bash, Andy performed and recorded
with many top artists including: Nana Vasconcelos, Nitin Sawhney,
Stewart Copeland, Evelyn Glennie, Joanna MacGregor, Steve Reich
and the Ghana Dance Ensemble.
He has performed at major national venues which include: London's
Festival Hall, The Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall
whilst also travelling the world to perform on the international stage
in: USA, Ghana, Europe, Hong Kong and Australia.
Andy’s specialism in Latin music has led to performances with Latin
bands in numerous venues throughout the UK. As founder and
leader of the London based Latin band Riamba, Andy develops new
arrangements of traditional classics.
